The University of Akron is running an unheard-of promotion that will let one season ticket holder call plays in a real game, and head coach Joe Moorhead explained how it'll work in an interview with TMZ Sports.

It Came From The Athletic Department

According to TMZ Sports, the idea landed on Moorhead's desk from Akron's athletic department — a raffle among season ticket holders, with the winner getting to be part of the game-planning process.

"I was busy, unironically enough, scripting some plays for fall camp practice," Moorhead told the outlet, when they "came to me with the idea of a promotion that would allow a raffle winner to be a part of our game planning process."

Even The Coach Had Doubts

"Obviously I was a bit hesitant and skeptical, not having heard this before," Moorhead admitted — before coming around on the idea that, per TMZ, "rocked social media" when it dropped.
