Devon Sawa Just Revealed The Truth About His 8-Year "Beef" With Macaulay Culkin — And The Website Is Still Not His
Eight years after Macaulay Culkin started selling "Devon Sawa" T-shirts, Sawa is finally addressing the internet "beef" — and revealing how Culkin's missed casting got him into Eminem's "Stan" video.
Stop scrolling, because the most wholesome celebrity "feud" of the 2010s just got a final chapter — and yes, it involves a domain name, a pile of T-shirts and an Eminem music video.
Devon Sawa has finally addressed his "internet beef" with Macaulay Culkin, and honestly? We are SO here for it.
The Tea ☕
- Sawa told E!'s Hot Goss the "feud" started when Culkin bought a website with a very familiar name and started selling Sawa-themed shirts.
- Eight years on, Sawa says it "kind of faded out" — but Culkin still owns the site.
- Sawa also revealed how he ended up in Eminem's "Stan" video, and it involves Culkin. Keep reading.
Wait, Remind Me What Happened?
Per E! Online, the two former child stars turned teen heartthrobs turned seasoned actors kicked off their viral online spat eight years ago, when Culkin began selling "Devon Sawa" T-shirts.
Sawa, now 48, looked back on it during his appearance on the show. "He and I had a internet beef," he said. "He bought DevinSawa.com. He did that, and we did this photo shoot together, and then we just started pranking each other."
So, to be clear: this was never a real feud. It was a bit. A long-running, extremely online, T-shirt-powered bit. 🎭
The Payback Plot That Never Was
Here's where it gets good. According to E!, the website situation is still unresolved.
"If you want to go to DevinSawa.com, you will be purchasing everything from Macaulay Culkin," Sawa quipped, before adding, "I can't believe I'm giving him free press."
(Sir, you absolutely just did.)
Could Sawa retaliate by grabbing the @macaulayculkin handle on Instagram? He says no — he wouldn't go "that low" in his payback plot. Still, he had nothing but love in the end, calling Culkin "amazing."
The Eminem Plot Twist
Now for the real tea. Sawa pointed out that he arguably already won the revenge game by starring in Eminem's beloved 2002 video for "Stan."
Why? According to Sawa, Culkin was "the first pick, I think" for the role. When that casting fell through, Sawa stepped in. He said Dre was a big Final Destination fan, and a friend of a friend who was the casting director helped get him the call.
"I got a call and they were like, 'You want to be in this new Eminem video?'" he recalled, calling it "one of my favorite things, for sure." With TRL in its heyday, he said the video stayed at the center of pop culture for months — "a very wild, wild time of my life."
Sawa's next move is the upcoming Disney+ series Coven Academy, per E!.
Why We Love This
In an era where celebrity feuds can get genuinely ugly, a decade-long prank war built on a domain name and merch is exactly the kind of chaos we need. No lawyers, no statements, just two guys who were once on every teen magazine cover trolling each other with cotton tees.
So, what now? Does Culkin finally hand over the domain, or does the shirt shop live forever?
