Diddy's Fort Dix Cell Was Reportedly Run Like A Luxury Suite — And It Could Cost Him
A Dateline report alleges Sean "Diddy" Combs has a crew of fellow inmates doing his chores at Fort Dix, plus access to a phone and tablet. Here's what's reported, and what's still unconfirmed.
Stop scrolling, because a new report claims Sean "Diddy" Combs has been living like a VIP behind bars, complete with a crew of inmates allegedly paid to make his bed and give him massages. 👀
Remember: this is all reportedly and allegedly, based on a Dateline segment and inmate sources. Here's what's being said.
The Tea ☕
- NBC News' Dateline reported this week that Combs allegedly runs his Fort Dix cell with a team of fellow inmates treated like personal staff.
- He also allegedly had access to a cell phone, a tablet, alcohol and a prescription antidepressant, none of which inmates are permitted without authorization.
- His projected release date, per The Hollywood Reporter, keeps shifting and now stands at Jan. 21, 2028.
The "Staff" Situation
According to THR's rundown of the Dateline report, a crew of incarcerated men allegedly got money put into their commissary accounts in exchange for doing chores. We're talking making the rapper's bed, cleaning his toilet and shower, and giving him massages.
Some inmates also allegedly cooked him meals outside the prison's regular menu. The Dateline reporter said she spoke with several inmate sources inside the facility.
The Instagram Plot Twist
One inmate reportedly showed NBC News an Instagram account that Combs allegedly used to communicate with contacts outside the prison. Per THR, the profile has no picture, but it's followed by Combs' PR representative.
The Bureau of Prisons has a policy of not commenting on current inmates. THR says Combs' rep did not respond to its request for comment on the Dateline story.
And His Release Date Keeps Moving
Combs has been at Fort Dix since October 2025, after more than a year at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center. THR reports his projected release date has bounced around between January and June of 2028 several times.
During that time, THR says he entered a drug rehabilitation program at the New Jersey facility, was involved in a fight with another inmate, and violated several prison rules. TMZ reported in July that the alleged fight landed him in solitary and pushed his date back about a month, though his rep told THR he can't confirm where Combs is, saying, "BOP doesn't keep us apprised."
How We Got Here
After an eight-week trial in summer 2025, Combs was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and acquitted of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. He got a 50-month sentence, and per THR he and his lawyers are still waiting on a decision on their appeal.
The big question now is whether these new claims, which haven't been confirmed by the Bureau of Prisons, could affect his time behind bars. THR notes his release date has already been shifting.
